Investors are more eager to buy in 2025 than they have been since mid-2022, according to the latest Property Sentiment Report by API Magazine.
The report reveals that 30% of respondents plan to buy in the next year, with 65% of them being investors.
Many investors believe 2025 is an ideal time to expand their portfolios, with a growing interest in houses as their preferred asset.
While still lower than the 45% recorded in Q2 2022, the share of buyers seeking to purchase a house has steadily increased over the past six months to reach 39%.
The report also highlights that more than a third of respondents (34%) have chosen Queensland as their preferred state for investment in 2025.
Surprisingly, 20% selected Victoria, despite recent new taxes and fees that have deterred investors in the past year.
Investors are targeting yields between 4.6% and 5.5%, and most (79%) are reluctant to lose a reliable tenant in pursuit of higher returns.
