Australia’s house prices have experienced eight consecutive quarters of growth.
Marking the longest period of uninterrupted quarterly increases since 2012-2015, according to Domain’s latest House Price Report.
The December quarter also saw the seventh straight quarter of unit price growth.
In the December quarter, Brisbane’s median house price surpassed $1 million for the first time, while its unit market reached a new high of $633,000.
Despite the continued growth, the report notes that the pace of price increases slowed nationally during this period.
In 2024, Perth’s house market saw significant price increases, prompting buyers to turn to its unit market, which achieved the highest unit market growth in the December quarter at 5.4%.
Affordability-driven demand boosted median unit prices in all capital cities, with Darwin up 4.4%, Melbourne 2.1%, Brisbane 1.8%, Hobart 1.5%, Adelaide 0.6%, and Sydney 0.4%.
