Long Term Game

New data confirms property investment is a long-term game, with house prices doubling in more than 29 townships over the past five years.

Analysis by Propertyology reveals another 50 suburbs and towns recorded price growth of 70% to 90% during the same period.

Propertyology Managing Director Simon Pressley says the past five years have delivered some of the strongest national property market performances since Federation.

Regional locations have led the way, with 11 inland towns ranking among the top 35 for price growth.

Pressley attributes this demand to affordability and strong job markets, particularly in agribusiness and resources.

“The biggest factor driving property market growth is always local economic conditions,” he says.

Top-performing Queensland locations include Gatton, Kingaroy, Somerset, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, and Western Downs.

In Western Australia, the leaders are Port Hedland, Mandurah, Busselton, and Geraldton, while Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, and Port Pirie stand out in South Australia.
